“No praise is high enough to describe my experience of having both cataracts done by David Anderson. Everything was explained from the beginning, and the two procedures were completely painless. Within a couple of days my sight was restored to how I remember it many years ago.”
“You kindly suggested I use moisturising night goggles to help the cornea from drying over night after my surgery. This may be too early to tell as I have only used the goggles for a few nights, but the result seems astonishing. They are reasonably comfortable to wear and I’m sure this will get easier in time. Sleeping on either side does tend to push the goggles over but still keeps reasonably air tight. They certainly get fogged up, so you have to remove them if you get up in the night. When you took the bandage lens out on Tuesday the eye felt quite scratchy for a couple of days but no problems now. The image in the right eye is much clearer, denser, sharper on waking now. I would say the goggles are a success and have helped to iron out some of the problems of the right cornea with the night-time vacuum moisturising. The wipes are good and handy to clean out all the debris from the multitude of drops. Fingers crossed that this will help get the eyes back on track. “I had my eyes lasered in January 2014 by David Anderson. It's the best thing I've ever done. I had to wear glasses for everything and now I only need to wear a pair of 'off the shelf' reading glasses for really small print. This is because I wanted to used my computer without using glasses and I play sport and didn't want to worry about glasses whilst playing. The process was painless, I was talked through the whole process, I knew exactly what was going on and kept informed at every step. The after care was second to none. “I had my first cataract operation on my left eye under NHS in 2021. It didn't go well. My eye was not properly sealed, I phoned in to express some anxiety about about my deteriorating vision, but was told this was normal. After 10 days I went for my follow up and found my eye was leaking and had deflated.This was very concerning. I went for several further emergency appointments and my eye recovered. After that I decided to go private for my second operation and was recommended to David Anderson. It was a very different experience, comfortable and reassuring. I could tell my second operation had gone well from the smooth feeling under the eye lid and immediate improvement in vision. I was hyper vigilant after my previous experience and thought my eye was watering excessively. I phoned up and I was told to immediately come in for further examination. I was reassured my op. was fine, but I may have an allergy to the eye drops. My prescription was immediately changed. “Three weeks ago I underwent Dsek surgery to improve my eyesight which was becoming hazy due to Fuschs dystrophy. “Following laser surgery many years previously, to repair torn retinas (both eyes), and thereafter cataract procedures, to rectify the effects of the lasers (as had been foreseen), I was left with good but not perfect vision. I approached David Anderson on recommendation of my optician, to explore the possibility of profiling the front of the corneas, to adjust the eyes to distant vision. “When my son was finally diagnosed with Keratoconus by our local specialist we were of course very upset for him. He was just about to embark on a career in film and this came a a great shock to all of us. We first met David at one of his associated Clinics and he advised that one of my sons right eye needed urgent treatment to halt this progressive condition before it was too late. We agreed a date and my son and I went to his Wessex Clinic. Our treatment and aftercare could not have been bettered, the attention David and his staff gave us was second to none. The CXL went extremely well and our sons worst eye has been stopped from degenerating any more, a great relief.
