“I had difficulty trying to register a power tool bought through one of the dealerships. I contacted Makita UK via E-mail. I received a response the following day From Anne who requested me to send a photo of the tool displaying the serial number and purchase details. To my surprise and delight I received the 3 year warranty certificate the following day. "impressed"”
“Brilliant products great local support technical engineer however website so difficult to navigate oh my goodness me that's the only thing that lets the company down is the website the tools are brilliant and I really love them”
“Avoid Makita like the plague!!!!
Let me start by saying how great, up until this problem Makita products are. And up until this problem any problems I have had, have been swiftly sorted out and there customer service was brilliant.
Unfortunately this time the people I’ve dealt with at Makita have escalated the problems and made the situation 100 times worse. I purchased a Makita petrol chainsaw from a reputable company, they where brilliant and are still trying to help me as I write this review, shame the same can’t be said about Makita, also a shame that the individuals that have prompted this review can’t be named and shamed as they are widely incompetent and shouldn’t be in there jobs!!! Any way back to the review, the chainsaw never worked correctly so it was arranged to be returned to Makita via the shop I brought it from, who after a long period said there was nothing wrong with the item and without warning or further communication just sent it back to me! Despite me asking to be credited for the item!!
Now this is where the fun starts, the chainsaw was put in a flimsy box with some paper around it and of corse on its journey it was dropped and smashed and parts of the machine where snapped broken etc who know ms what other damage was caused to internals. after a few emails back and forth etc Makita finally had the broken chainsaw picked up again! After another wait I received an email after I had sent a few asking about what was going on. At this point Makita excepted liability, stating that the box wasn’t correct and the packaging was inadequate etc etc. at this point I thought this would be an end to the matter and I would be supplied with a replacement etc, but no, again I heard nothing and had to re chase and find out what was going on etc, at which point I was told that they no longer stocked the item I’d brought 4months ago (and never been able to use) and that I’d get a totally different product, by this point I’ve lost all interest and faith in Makita and asked for asked AGAIN to be credited….. I again heard nothing. It was at this point I had to look to the courts to recoup my losses on the chainsaw and Makita still now are dragging there heals and not replying to court papers or myself. I feel the think as they are a big company they can just look the other way!!! And they are untouchable.
Please think twice before parting with your money there are plenty of other good tool suppliers out there I have in excess of 5000£ of Makita tools which I will be looking to sell and change brands such a shame that a great product line and company have been let down by there terrible staff. I really hope Makita can look into this and sort this out asap there are people taking a wage and not doing much for there money!!!!!!”
“I have a Makita kit bought about 6 or 7 years ago. After all this years I can say that I am very pleased with these products. Included in the kit was a jigsaw, which I had to change for a newer one and a planer, that needed a new start button. Out of 6 power tools included in the kit, these were the only problems I had. And I mention that they are used every day. Very pleased with Makita and I recommend them”
“I’ve a lot of makita tools they are hard to beat. Plunge saw , compound mitre saw various drills. Heavy duty breaker. Jig saw . They are brilliant. The only disappointment is their screw gun for fixing plaster boards.
Constant jamming. I bought the mains version and theN the battery version and ended up binning both of them . Bought the senco screw gun and it’s brilliant.”
“Everything I own from Makita, now 18 tools and growing have been amazing. No regrets buying into their 18v collection. I’m a kitchen fitter and the quality of rolling you get for the cost is great. Sure Festool are better but worth the extra £££ not sure.”
“I have been using Makita powertools for as long as I can remember and was never let down for their quality and efficiency. I mostly use their tools for working with wood, surfboard manufacture and DIY around the house which involves some drilling. Furthermore, Makitauk have always answered my questions and have an excellent customer support. I also use their tools in other European countries and have contacted Makita in other countries with a quick response. Their warranty is valid all around Europe as it has the CE certification. I'm very happy with Makita and would recommend them to anyone needing excellent tools for an excellent job done!”
