“Yesterday, my partner had to take our cat, Barolo, to MediVet Hendon as an emergency. He was seen by a vet, given medication, and we were advised to call back if his condition worsened.
Unfortunately, overnight Barolo began vomiting and became noticeably more lethargic. I called the clinic first thing this morning and was told that the same vet who saw him was in today and would call us back. Despite this assurance, no one contacted us at all, even hours later.
Out of growing concern for Barolo’s health, we've now booked an emergency appointment with his regular vet and are on our way.
We had a good experience with MediVet Hendon two years ago, but this time the lack of communication and follow-up has been completely unacceptable. When your pet is unwell, clear and timely communication is crucial. Based on this recent experience, I would not recommend this clinic to anyone who truly cares about their pet’s wellbeing.”
“I worked for Medivet Wokingham for a year and they have been awful at aiding me receive a tax rebate which is only owed because of their mistake! They incorrectly added my income from my previous employer which caused me to pay tax on the income twice. Since this mistake on their behalf, they have dragged their feet in fixing the issue for over 7 months! When I first brought the mistake to their attention, they kept not understanding the situation and palming me off. I kept trying to call but could never get through to their payroll department and I would constantly be ignored via email. Any email I did receive provided no real update and in general, I felt Medivet did not take the situation seriously or with any great importance or urgency. I have been emailing almost daily to get the situation moving with no success and have now asked to escalate the complaint and be put through to the manager which has again been ignored.
I am owed a substantial amount but Medivet payroll are not taking the situation seriously, especially considering it was their fault it happened and they are the only one's who can fix it!”
“Not a very good vet. They were unable to diagnose a fractured spine in a cat, performing an unnecessary, expensive, COVID test instead when they should have referred us to an expert. The cat had paralysis. Timely intervention could have saved his life.”
“I called the vets on behalf of my dad as he called me up advising that our dog was screaming in a lot of pain. She has not been herself for a while due to our other dog dying but had not been in pain. My dad called me this morning distressed as she had started screaming and yelping in pain. My sister called the vets to ask about putting her down who advised that they could not fit us in until the next day. I did call the vets back to see if there was anything we could do or if there was any other practices they could suggest. The receptionist put me onto the vet, who has been our vet for over 30 years. He was quite short to me on the phone, then when I explained that she wasn't herself for 2 weeks he started to talk over me and say that it wasn't an emergency for him to see her as she's been in pain for 2 weeks and we've left it this late to get in touch. I tried to ask him to let me finish as I never said she was in pain for 2 weeks, only that she hasn't been herself. He would not let me finish and when I told him that he was being very rude to me, he started to scream at me down the phone how it was my fault that she was in pain, because we'd left it too long. I told him this was a horrendous way to speak to someone but he continued to scream at me. Not shout, scream at me. I kept trying to explain that the pain only started last night but he kept screaming that she's been like it it 2 weeks so we should have called up sooner. I also said I didn't want to inconvenience anyone and also wanted to know if they could recommend anyone else for us to go to and he said I can call around if I want. He agreed we could bring her in at 11am. I am completely shocked that at such an upsetting time I have been spoken to like this. He has never spoken to any of my members of family like this so this was completely out of the blue and an absolutely shock. My sister has now taken our dog to the vet, and nothing was said about the conversation that was had, no apologies, and barely any talking.”
