I purchased a pair of boots by a well known, trusted brand that starts with a S and ends in alomon. My socks got wet on the first walk, through wet grass, (with gaiters on). Gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried again, wet socks, just dawdling through the woods, very disappointing. Sent them back and shopped around until I purchased a pair of Grisport decoy boots. Comfortable from the outset, lots of ankle support, good grip (tested on muddy hillside paths) and sturdy like a decent pair of army boots. Have worn them for about six fast, five mile walks and a bunch of dog walks in the rain. Highly recommended so far.
