This guage would have got a five star rating but unfortunately the cutting wheel was not square to the shaft and therefore one side of the cutting wheel as proud of the fence when fully retracted by about 0.5 mm. I removed the cutting wheel and with the shift inserted in the fence (with the fence surface protected my electrical tape) I honed the end of the shaft on a diamond stone until the end was square. Very pleased with the guage fettling aside. If you are thinking of buying one of these you won't be disappointed!
