At 59, I had recently started doing a little rucking with DIY bags of rice and beans in a standard backpack. It worked, but it was overly bulky and uncomfortable. I purchased this Wolf Tactical vest with a pair of 14.5 lb curved plates. I added some personalized flair and a small molle bag. It's been a game-changer! Quite secure and comfortable. Great for long, or short, walks with my dog!
