This media console has become, no joke, my favorite piece of furniture in the house. I'm so happy with it. It's super well built and looks really handsome in my living room. I have a 55" TV that rests on top, and the height and viewing angle is perfect. It really brings the TV into the room in an elegant and low-profile way. The console was designed for a soundbar. I have a 5.1 speaker set up and decided before I purchased that I would make it work anyway. I'm happy to report that it does! As expected, the center speaker doesn't fit on the top shelf. I've placed it on the bottom shelf, just to one side of the center support beam. When the doors are closed, you can barely tell that the center channel is actually off-center. And when the lights are off and a movie is on, you don't notice at all. It just sounds like the audio is coming from the console itself. I was curious about the claim that the slatted doors are "acoustically transparent," and they really are. I notice no difference in sound with the doors open or closed. There's plenty of room on either side of the TV for side speakers, and the interior has plenty of room for the center speaker, receiver, and a PS5, with lots of room to spare. Assembly was not only easy, but pleasant. The console snaps together firmly like a LEGO set. I generally enjoy putting together this sort of flatpack furniture, and not only was this way easier than IKEA, it's the only piece of furniture that when I was finished I kind of wanted to assemble another one. Overall, I'm thrilled with this media console. I moved into my first house a couple months ago, and it went a long way toward helping the place feel like home.
