The initial writing experience is very nice - the paper is lovely to write on. However, it is very thin. You can only use every other page at most, because the writing from the reverse side shows through very clearly, meaning the page is messy and not functional. You can also see writing from 2 sides previously through the paper, even with very light ink, biro, or pencil. As such I certainly would not call this 'fountain pen friendly' paper and, honestly, I don't understand why it's so high in so many estimations!
