This mat is about the price of a game expansion, all by itself, but after playing a game on it, I think it is worth it. FFG gave it a nice box to store it in (rolled up), which was something I wasn't expecting. The mat isn't super thick, but the 36-inch by 36-inch size does provide a lot of play area. The graphics are simple but thematic, and provide a good backdrop when using the Exploration rules from the Terra Incognita expansion. I think I'll be using this for every game of Civilization: A New Dawn from now on, unless I have to play on a table that's just too small. (And realistically, I'd rather work on finding a table that's big enough...)
