“High level catcher’s mitt with Japanese Kip leather. Leather is sound and light weight. Very maneuverable mitt for blocking. I am still getting a feel for it for framing but anticipate it working well given it’s is so light. Durability can only be tested over time. I have used the MLB brand “HOH” for the last 10+ years which is a solid mitt IMO, but is much thicker and much heavier. So we will see if there are trade offs. That said, my 44 is very tight around my pinky finger when closing. Hoping this loosens up as the mitt breaks in more and will continue to adjust the wrist strap to see if this alleviates it without compromising control. Thumb loop/section is better than prior mitts even for off center receiving. I don’t have large hands but they wider than average in the palm so that may have something to do with this and I am not catching for guys throwing that hard (80 mph max). If I had to do over, I would have gotten a 34” instead of a 33.5”. Overall, a great looking mitt and great sounding mitt when receiving the ball. I would highly recommend giving 44 a try.”
“Nice glove- good material. The gator leather on the web of the catchers mitt is a bad idea. Leather is slick. Had to hit it with sandpaper. Also- having no glove prep break in service from a custom glove company is disappointing. Otherwise we are satisfied, just taking forever to break in because it’s so stiff.”
