“I bought this for my Mum (aged 56 y/o) specifically for grey coverage. She was very hesitant about using Desert Shadow and she has been using commercial hair dyes for MANY MANY years. But we thought we'd try something new. She was pleasantly surprised at the effect on her grey hair. We have used twice now. The first time, we did not apply the product according to instructions (our mistake) so a lot of her greys turned a copper colour. This actually worked quite nicely with her darker-brown hair, and she received lots of compliments on it, so hey there you go! Second time around we followed instructions carefully, still some of the top greys turned a copper colour... But we think this will change with time, as her hair repairs itself from years of chemicals, and gets used to a more natural product. Mum is very happy with her results so far!”
“I've used the deep red shadow colour twice now and am loving the effect on my hair. Sure, it starts to fade after a few days, but it still leaves a shining orange/red glow - especially noticeable in the sunlight. I didn't want to make any dramatic changes to my dark brown hair, just wanted some reddy tones - and that's just what I got here. Also love that I know I'm not putting any chemicals on and into my body!”
“I was using honey shadow but went a little darker using walnut shadow which is more my natural colour .
I can’t stop looking at myself in the mirror which is so not me! The colour is gorgeous, deep medium brown . Since using desert shadow for the last six months it has grown faster than normal and is ridiculously soft and healthy . I will never dye my hair with anything else again . Obsessed with this brand .”
“I love it! I have finally found a product that is easy to apply and works so well.
Great treatment for my hairs: they are so shiny and look so thick and heathy. Amazing bright and full colour as well.
I have already ordered it again - can only recommend it ;)”
“This was the first time I have ever coloured my own hair, I've been going to the hairdressers for almost 20 years so I was nervous haha.
My hair before was a medium, dull brown. I left this in a little longer than 4 hours and the colour was so vibrant! Had that beautiful red tinge to it.
I think it's held its colour well for more than 6 weeks! Definitely buying this again to recolour my hair!”
“I have used this on my hair 3 times now. My hair is naturally dark blonde and I have quite a lot of highlights in it. Naturally the bleached hair has coloured a brighter more fiery red than the darker roots which are a deeper auburn red. I'm still trying to perfect my application technique, but the results are good and without chemicals which I appreciate. My hair does tend to look quite orange for the first few days before the colour settles. The colour has been building so that it doesn't really fade much at all so soon I will only have to touch up my roots. Also it does have a strong scent which I have gotten used to, I find it tends to stick around through several washes for me, I haven't tried using any scented oils in it yet.”
“I have used this before - as well as using the same brand in a darker colour. I have some grey hairs here and there, so last time I did the process they recommended for grey coverage. I did it this time using the short process. It was great, I noticed no difference for me. I have medium/dark brown hair and this was a really good colour. I thought it would be too light, but it really wasn't at all, my dark hair is just the same. I find that when the grey hair starts to get a bit wiry and unruly, its time to do it again - so for me somewhere between 2-3 months. I have never used a commercial chemical colour, so I can't compare it - but at this stage I certainly can't see any benefit to using chemical colour. I see women in the salon for a couple of hours when they get their hair coloured...with this you can just chill out on the couch in your trackies if you want! :)”
