Garmin Edge 1050 Bike Computer Reviews

4.6 Rating 29 Reviews
I have had a series of Garmin hand held GPS units. Although they served their purposes, the two major shortcomings were battery life and daylight visibility. The Edge 1050 seems to have addressed both of these issues very efficiently. I had done several rides with the Edge and the daylight visibility was superb and battery life even better than I had hoped. I will soon be taking 38 riders to cycle across France and the Garmin Edge 1050 will be our main navigational tool.

The best aspect is being able to increase the size of text displayed. A real bonus for map reading for the more mature rider. I could do without the automatic display whenever you start on an uphill section that has been ridden frequently. The word CLIMB appears in very large font and then disappears to be replaced by an elevation chart showing the gradients and where you are on a climb. Intimidating.
