“Wow . . . These Shokz OpenRun Pro wireless Bone conducting headphones are super awesome!
Considerably cheaper at $239 than other leading hifi stores selling for replacement of $319.
If your curious and thinking about trying these out by all means "go for it"!
Ive had mine for about 2 months now and am super impressed right from the outset.
As your ears are free from buds/pods etc you can hear your surroundings perfectly, when your on your bike out for a ride, or out for a run etc situational awareness is key, these small but mighty headphones are an absolute must!
Even in windy conditions you can still hear your music or phone call with ease!
Do yourself a favour and download the app for more enhanced EQ settings, having not had the app initially for the first month I was impressed but wow the change of EQ settings for bass boost is the bees knees!
* Personally, I only have them set to no more than 50% whilst riding and that's plenty loud enough.
These have quickly become my #1 go to for headphones!
Battery life is about 10 hours, so for a tiny battery they more than last your ride etc.
As always Modbury SA team are well versed on product knowledge!
Can't recommend highly enough 10/10”
“Excellent, this is my second set, the first set lasted 4 years of very heavy wear & tear every day and night. The microphone is very good for business calls etc. and this new set also has a C-cable connection so it's far more convenient.”
“Regret choosing bone conducting headphones. OpenRun pro 2 is a refined product that rates better than all its competitors, but frankly it's 1) just not loud enough, which I only have myself to blame for having noted prior to purchase it was widely reported in reviews, and 2) uncomfortable for the bone transmitted sound compared to just a very basic entry level over-ear Jabra headset I use at work. I find myself wanting to take these bone conducting headphones off. They are convenient when I'm out walking the dog, in the sense of being minimalistic, but when I take a call I receive comments that I'm hard to hear - and that is instantly fixed if I can swap for the over-ear headset. In terms of loudness I'm quite frustrated that when roadbike riding the Pro 2's at max volume can't even compete with the sound of cars quietly moving past. Maybe music won't be an issue but forget about trying to listen to a podcast which is my main habit.
And when I try wearing these for an extended period I get pressure soreness.
All round just a mistake, the technology as expressed in Shokz most refined product, the best available on the market, just is not up to everyday use and definitely not something that works cycling.”
