“Unfortunately, this build falls well short (even under idle operating conditions) of the "silent performance" that its marketing material advertised. My point of comparison is a 2016 Be Quiet! Silent Base 600 build with a i5-6400 and stock cooler and an ASUS Strix 970, which does indeed perform (virtually) silently. So it's hard for me not to be disappointed, given the expectations that the phrase "silent performance" instilled. My suggestion to Aftershock, then, would be to take greater care with its marketing copy. And I just note that I didn't seek out the chance to write this review; rather, I was prompted to write the review by an Aftershock email. So I'm not your classic disgruntled customer looking to vent! Nor am I wholly disappointed with this PC. It's just that I intentionally sought out a build that would perform (virtually) silently, and this build disappoints, measured against that marketing claim.”
