This Wireless Solar Powered Wind Sensor provides protection for your awnings by automatically retracting and opening based on the weather. When winds are strong, your awning will automatically close to protect itself. Once sunshine returns, your motor will be triggered to open your awning, so your outdoor space will be kept cool and shady. Highly recommended for all awnings to offer constant protection – even when you are not at home. The sensor comes with 3 different wind sensitivity settings and 4 different sun sensitivity settings so you can choose the perfect settings for you and your house. “The instructions are very vague to me tried many times to pair the unit with my awning didn't know if it was actually paired no way of checking it. Nothing on YouTube to help customers unfortunately it did not work. A good gust of wind came along and completely destroyed my awning, it did not retract. I feel it was a waste of $100 for the Solar powered wind unit, I will try to repair my awning if I can get parts from Aelko it's a total waste of time and money don't bother buying a Aleko awning $600 in total wasted in less than two months partially my fault I felt it was kind of flimsy after installing the slightest wind made it creek and bend doesn't take much to twist these awnings up into a pretzel. Let's hope I can get replacement arms. I had this awning less than two months.”

“I purchased this solar wind and sun sensor. I thought it detected rain also and would close it when it rains. It DOES NOT. I wish it did. That would be a helpful feature. You can set your awning to OPEN when the sun gets so hot and you can set your awning to close when the wind gets so strong. It's easy to pair to your awning motor and easy to mount. It also has a CLOSE button on it so if your remote is inside or out of reach, you can push the button on the sensor to close it. Works well. I'd purchase it again.”

“Works fine. Not sure of the rain sensor though. I sprayed water after everything was done and the awning did not retract. But the sun and wind part works fine.”
