This Wireless Solar Powered Wind Sensor provides protection for your awnings by automatically retracting and opening based on the weather. “Overall, I am pleased with the WIreless Awning Sensor. The biggest shortcoming is the inability to disable it. When winds are intermittantly gusting, the awning continually extends and retracts. Also, when its raining but the sky is bright, the awing extends when I want it retracted. When I don't want the awning to automatically extend, I have to unplug the awning or climb a ladder and put opaque tape over the photodetector. Neither is convenient.”

“Works great! Now I never have to remember to deploy/retract the canopy or worry about wind. The only down side is you have to reprogram it to not auto-deploy during the rainy season.”

“The solar powered wind and sun sensor seems to be working so far. But like all of my Aleko products the instructions need a massive overhaul. After trying for over an hour to sync my sensor to my awning. I broke down and called Aleko. They said they would send me more clear instructions. It wasn't much clearer and after calling a second time I some how got it working, without their help. The instructions said to listen for a tone and showed a music note. I assumed they would come from the sensor or the remote, needed both for synchronization I think, but it comes from the motor on the awning. It was windy and It was very difficult for me to hear”
