“The wind and sun sensor is well thought out functionally and well made. It does it's job a advertised. When the light level reaches the preset the awning rolls out and in the evening rolls back up as the light level goes down. There are appropriate delays to avoid the awning being triggered by passing shadows. The wind sensor, on the other hand, triggers very quickly as it should to save the awning from damage. Both the sun sensor and wind sensor have adequate adjustment ranges. There is a LCD screen to allow both actual and set point readings. One feature lacking is an override to allow manual deployment and retraction when circumstances require. The reason this unit did not get five stars is the abysmal instructions and confusing user interface. It was not obvious how to pair the sensor with the awning or change the settings. Most modern remote sensors come with a smartphone app these days. That would have made setup and adjustment much easier. It's also difficult to see the sensor LCD when it's mounted on a building.”

“The instructions are very vague to me tried many times to pair the unit with my awning didn't know if it was actually paired no way of checking it. Nothing on YouTube to help customers unfortunately it did not work. A good gust of wind came along and completely destroyed my awning, it did not retract. I feel it was a waste of $100 for the Solar powered wind unit, I will try to repair my awning if I can get parts from Aelko it's a total waste of time and money don't bother buying a Aleko awning $600 in total wasted in less than two months partially my fault I felt it was kind of flimsy after installing the slightest wind made it creek and bend doesn't take much to twist these awnings up into a pretzel. Let's hope I can get replacement arms. I had this awning less than two months.”

“I purchased this solar wind and sun sensor. I thought it detected rain also and would close it when it rains. It DOES NOT. I wish it did. That would be a helpful feature. You can set your awning to OPEN when the sun gets so hot and you can set your awning to close when the wind gets so strong. It's easy to pair to your awning motor and easy to mount. It also has a CLOSE button on it so if your remote is inside or out of reach, you can push the button on the sensor to close it. Works well. I'd purchase it again.”

“Works fine. Not sure of the rain sensor though. I sprayed water after everything was done and the awning did not retract. But the sun and wind part works fine.”
