“MultiCharts COULD be and WAS an excellent platform. However, when ever you have an issue (like data lagging) everyone blames the others. MC blames the data vendor, the data vendor blames the internet, the broker blames the platform and it goes on and on. There is no one at Multicharts you can speak to about any issue you have. WHEN and IF support answers they will not respond. And then, when I get used to the last (un requested changes) they change it again!! If I hadn't grown up trading on TradeStation I would have ditched MC long ago. The ONLY reason I use MC is because TradeStation sold a foreign company.
For example I use the DOM and there are many times I have seen the full depth of all orders. But MC refuses to acknowledge it and says I can only see 10 bid/ask depth. I've shown screenshots!!! But they say it's a mistake and I'm not seeing what I'm seeing.
I'm slowly gravitating to NinjaTrader and TOS and when I get all my studies converted, I'm planning to drop MC. Mainly bc you can't leave a good thing alone and really due to the lack of support. Just like many businesses and politicians, you want my vote and support ($$) but once you get it, you won't answer the phone! And anything AI will acclerate me leaving!! And for the record, at latest count, I've been able to talk 17 traders out of purchasing/using MC.
I will be happy to speak to anyone at MC to confirm the issues I've cited here, but wait!, there's NO ONE TO SPEAK TO!!!

“MultiCharts is a comprehensive trading and technical analysis platform. It has many features. It has great flexibility and you can use multiple different data sources. I also use it because I have indicators that were developed for Multicharts.”
“I have a lifetime license to MultiCharts which I have had for more than 7 years now. I purchased it because a vendor that I trusted had programmed an algorithm in PowerLanguage. GOOD STUFF: The algorithm worked well, and the overall program was excellent. Multicharts uses similar coding to TradeStation's EasyLanguage, so many algorithms can work on both platforms. With MultiCharts, the position handling is good, with a very fast response rate. I love the genetic algorithm backtesting, and you can even choose how many of the CPU cores to use with each test. The backtests/optimization show all the results in a table, so you can actually see the impact of the several variables. The charting is good, and I especially like the multi-day OBV (on balance volume) indicator, which I am unable to get on NinjaTrader without special tweaks. A close second is the Volume Delta side bar that I have plotting immediately next to each candlestick. Sometimes there are green UP bars, but I can see that the Big Boy buying pressure is dropping, or may even be reversing because the side bar is red. Sometimes there are red DOWN bars, but the side bar is green, so I know a reversal is probably imminent. (But at a minimum, I know to be very careful with shorts.) Between the OBV mentioned and the Cumulative (Volume) Delta mentioned, Multicharts helps me stay on the right side of the market. LESS-THAN GOOD STUFF: The initial contract selection and rollovers each three months is not as easy as with some other platforms. Also, I don't like it that I can't see an exact balance after multiple trades, but this may be an AMP or CQG issue rather than Multicharts. OVERALL, I give it an 8 of 10. I have tried the .Net version free from AMP, but I have reverted back to my PowerLanguage version because of familiarity.”
