“I have been using MC for about a decade and that in itself should be telling of my experience.
MC has A lot of functions and licenses can be pretty much tailored to your needs. Personally I have always used MC for automated trading, using the built in code builder. Even with it's limitations it is possible to get most things done in a code language that is available and easy to most.
My biggest gripe with the software is that is super confusing and extremely badly structured. An example is that when I work with a chart, there are 4 different places where I have different setting related to the chart. Start adding indicators,signals and drawings and that number just goes up. Integration between data and charting and trading is confusing at best. Still after 10 years, I run into charts that just break, where I just have to delete it and start over. So, too many spread settings is a drawback”
“My exclusive reason for using Multicharts is that it supports Tradestation's EZ language. I have multiple strategies which I have developed in EZ language that I am using in Multicharts.”

It’s the complete package. I need a professional piece of software, with multi bracket settings, not something like TradingView that doesn’t even update tick by tick or have proper brackets.
I’m old-school though. The kids seem to like browser based platforms these days. Not me.”
“I have used, and still using, TradeStation, Ninjatrader, TradingView, ThinkOrSwim, and some none programable platforms. But what I do like about MC (MultiCharts) is that it keeps it clean. When you move from one screen to another, your windows won't get jumbled like in NinjaTrader.
NinjaTrader has a larger library for C#, but nowadays with AI, you can overcome this simply by asking.
The helpdesk (Vlad) is amazing in responsing on questions. Always there....and if there is one thing important, that is a working helpdesk!!”
