“For my purpose Trading Futures and for doing Custom Study Work (C++ experience needed) i think Sierrachart is the best Software out there. And i never had any issues with their own Order Routing Teton, it is fast and reliable”
“The initial impression of Sierra Chart, as a new user, can be a bit overwhelming. I had to follow a YouTube tutorial to help me get my charts as I wanted, but within two days I was finding my way around the program. Now it's been over 7 months and I feel completely comfortable. I really appreciate Sierra's documentation site, it's well written and easy to follow, very complete (I never had to use any other resources for help, apart from that initial YouTube). I really like how light weight it is on my computer, it barely uses any resources; the program is super fast, responsive, and really a joy to use. I can customize so much, even my drawing and trading menus, custom toolbars, shortcuts. I can create presets/templates for my drawings. I love that I have intraday tick data going back several years. I actually use it everyday to study historical charts. Sierra has two simulated/paper trading modes, also a really powerful replay. It also has a very nice Trade activity monitor with all kinds of stats. I have not used any spreadsheet functions yet, but I think one can build a very powerful trading journal with the data in excel. Denali data with Teton routing is working extremely well. Unfortunately AMP day trading commissions only apply to cash session, and overnight trading is subject to margins of 25% of exchange margins. This is not the case if using CQG, it only applies to Teton order routing. I think it's unfair, as Denali + Teton feels way more robust than CQG. I really think the only downside to Sierra is the myth that is has a very hard learning curve, which is underserved. It has a slightly more difficult learning curve than any new software, but I honestly don't think it is more complicated than Ninja Trader or Motive Wave. Sierra Chart is AMAZING and I do not see myself using any other trading platform, ever. It is that good!!!”
