“If you want everything you can possibly do , all types of order flow data, and very custamiziable , then Sierra is way to go.. There payment , subsription area could be a little more intuitive. Love Sierra charts! and Denali and Teton.”

“I've only been using Sierra Chart for a few months but I was almost forced into using it because I wanted to build an automatic position sizing tool and it was the only platform I found that supported both (1) good performance and (2) flexible programmability. While platforms like Ninjatrader do allow programmability, it's relatively slow and heavy on the system requirements. I also found that it has all kinds of limitations in what one can or cannot do with the programming interface. Sierra Charts just takes the kid gloves off and gives you access to the raw data via a C++ API.
The only downside for me has been the higher margin rates from AMP during the Asia and London sessions. That's something I hope goes away over time.”

“It is difficult to setup and you have to get deep into their documentation or watch someone go through setting up a study and tuning it to your strategy. Once you have all of the setup dialed in then it works very well. Fast data feeds, tune it to have virtually zero lag, has a lot of indicators and char types, no frills BS. Doesn't crash and orders executed well.”
