“It works; ‘spot-on’ for control of jump
Now for the review:
I bought it because the available video reviews were quite complimentary and it seemed a reasonably priced item for my purposes. I am slight-of frame and don’t have a lot of body mass or meaty hands and wrists to offset recoil or muzzle flip. This item is tuned for typical 14-18.5” barrels, but as mentioned, my size makes staying-on-target issues a little worse, so it seems just right on a 20” DMR. Now that I’ve had a few years to build profiles, I’m starting to find better combinations for my purpose builds.
I re-barreled an 18” DMR rifle (my original, first AR build) to a 20” length and removed the flash-only hider to install the brake. Had left-over SS accu-washers and used that instead of the ‘crush’.
Yes, it is loud and it does push gas to the side but I don't notice much kick and the sights stay very close to the POA. Feels like a .22LR almost.”
“Very impressed with the amount of performance ya get, the percussion isn't too bad on your ears really keeps muzzle rise to a minimum and makes staying on target much easier the finish matched my barrel perfectly and i would recommend anyone to buy it”
“Well finished break...it indexed properly with the supplied crush washer. It works very well at reducing muzzle rise and recoil is noticeably reduced. The price is reasonable for the quality and performance. As with any muzzle break...It won't help you make friends with those shooting next to you...but it will make it easier to stay on target from shot to shot.”
“The brake looks really nice with an even finish- it will sit on my BA .223 wylde Hanson profile barrel. I plan to use shims instead of the included stainless crush washer since I need to be able to remove and replace it for use with a direct thread suppressor.”
“I have many VG6 brakes but wanted something a little different and this fits the bill, literally. Best brake for the best price around when you use the promo code. Thanks Monmouth. Looks sweet with my Np3 BCG and Fortis Mfg nickel teflon charging handle. Just enough flair to go with the rest of an all black rifle. It's more of a flat gray rather than being too flashy like other stainless steel parts.”
