“The weather cleared up and the helicopter ride was incredible! The guides were wonderful and keeps us safe while highlighting the beautiful intricacies of the glacier. We even got to slide through a blue ice cave!”
“It’s a bit pricey yes, but they provide all the equipment you need, including waterproof jacket/pants, gloves/hat/socks, boots with crampons, and a bag! The hike itself changes from day to day since the glacier is always moving. Our guide, Jara, was very knowledgeable and provided lots of information about the glacier as we hiked (he’s also good at taking pictures!). The heli rides themselves are quite short (5 min each way) but the hike gives you at least 3 hours on the ice. Would definitely recommend!”
“From start to finish we had an amazing time. A short helicopter ride but a brilliant experience in itself and landing on the glacier. The hike through the glacier was brilliant with a very knowledgeable and experienced guide. The glacier was phenomenal. Then another chance to enjoy the helicopter back down to Franz Josef. All staff were helpful and friendly and provided all equipment and clothing needed. Highly recommended!”
“It was a really cool experience to walk on a glacier and I enjoyed it. But we didnt get much information about the glacier itself. It was basically a walk with a lot of photo stops and less than 3 hours. All in all a nice day and the hot pools in the end were a plus!”
