This sander is smooth, you can actually control it with two fingers. Much quieter than the Ryobi that it replaced too.

I bought this sander with Festool dust extractor 26E. They work great together. When sanding plywood, I don't see any saw dust coming out at all, which is awesome. When I sand painted plywood, the paint are in chunks so I can see some on my MFT table, but that should be expected. In general, awesome sander and price is reasonable in Festool products. If you can only afford 1 or 2 Festool products, this is a must have.

Good bye Dewalt sanders! I ran a search for THE BEST random orbital sander and came up with this sander; truly the best! Planning to upgrade my entire workshop with Festool brand products because of this experience. I got the CT 36 E dust collector, a must complement for this sander, coming next and hope to be able to leave a positive review for it too.

This should be your go-to finish sander for most projects. It is extremely versatile with infinitely adjustable speeds and great dust collection. It feel good in the hand and does not fatigue you palm with vibration. Very competitive pricing for this level of quality. Removable cord and Systainer storage make it convenient for workbench projects. The edge protector is a nice feature as it takes away the stress of damage in jointed areas.

This is a great tool. It replaced an old cheap sander that burned out. What a difference. It sands faster and with less noise and vibration. And with a ct sys dust extractor there is virtually no clean up because it gets all the dust. Amazing. Which I had pulled the trigger on this sooner.

I decided to spend the extra money and get a Festool sander. Pros: Systainer (so I can store my sanding disks with the sander) Longer cord Smoother (less vibration on the hand) Quieter Seems to have a little more power than the old Porter Cable sander. Cons: Price My grand mother always said: You get what you pay for. She seems to be right so far.

I have purchased and discarded many 5" orbital sanders over the years from all the top makers. Some performing better than others however all very close in overall comparison. I have a strong feeling that this unit will be the last brand I will EVER buy! The dust collection alone makes it worth the money but add the finish and you have a true standout performance unmatched by anything I have ever seen or used before.
