“The Ohia Lehua honey is absolutely delicious. I also tried the cinnamon infused honey too. Both are delicious but my favorite is the plain Ohia Lehua honey. The smooth creamy texture and flavor makes this so unique.
My delivery was quick and the jars were well packaged. Every thing arrived in perfect condition.
This honey is such a treat.”
“Absolutely the best tasting honey in tea , oatmeal, on toast or just simply straight with a spoon. Surprisingly I find it sweet but not overly sweet which is strange cause some of the honey I have tried have a very fake syrupy sweetness and they leave an aftertaste once you taste this you start comparing other ones to this , it's the gold standard”
“On vacation on the Big Island with family and friends, we went to the Big Island Bee Farm for a tour which included honey tasting. These wonderful bees make amazing honey using unique flowers growing on the island. This specific honey - ORGANIC OHIA LEHUA HONEY - is not overly sweet and is extremely tasty. I was in love! We all stocked up on their honey and other products and got free shipping back to the mainland. I have since run out and reordered online which offers free shipping on orders over $100 and amazing customer service. $100 is easy as they offer other amazing products like their passion fruit tea leaves and lip balm!”
“I've tried all of the other unadulterated varieties, but Lehua is the flavor I keep coming back to.
I've taken the apiary tour, chatted with the keepers/tour guides and somehow feel connected to this brand and this variety. I guess it's the magic of small batch honey.”
“I've been eating Big Island Bees honey for about 6 years or so, and I loved it. But then I discovered the Ohia Lehua flavor and my taste buds were bolted to a new level. This honey is creamy and delicious, and so sweet. I use this honey on my French toast instead of syrup. Very good food!!!”
“A friend of mine recently visited Big Island Bees during their trip to the island, and since I live nearby, we decided to check it out together. The tour was quite fascinating, offering insights into the various honey varieties they produce and showcasing the local farms that supply the honey. Interestingly, both of my neighbors also keep hives, which adds to the sense of community involvement.
For years, I've been a loyal consumer of their Lehua honey. While I'm not a heavy honey user, it's a key ingredient in my special pork rib recipe, which is always a hit at gatherings. The Lehua honey plays a central role in my marinade, complemented by a touch of root beer syrup or cola syrup along with some spices. After cooking the ribs in a pressure cooker with the marinade, I finish them under the broiler, using additional marinade to give them that irresistible crispiness.
I highly recommed their honey and after my recent taste testing, will have to try other varieties with my ribs.”
