“I, and many of the birds in my lawn have loved this for past year. However one cylinder was also loved
by at least one squirrel. Wonder if the intensity of the heat of the seed mixture had reduced after being
stored a few months. Or will rain wash the spice off the product?”
“This is a great product. It’s a hot cylinder that has Cayenne pepper which the squirrels raccoons etc don’t like but the birds love. Birds have a dry mouth so they can’t taste the hot pepper. A cylinder this size lasts about a month in my yard. Cylinders last so much longer than loose seed because they have to work a little harder to get each seed from the cylinder. This hot cylinder is great because there’s no waste, no shells that leave a big mess.”
“You can smell the spicey seeds once you open the box. I love how large the cylinders are. Good deal. I will see how long it would take for the birds to finish the cylinder. The seeds seem to be packed soft. You can seem to squeeze it easily. But I am keeping it under a baffle to protect it from the elements. I am sure regular squirrels won't be interested in the spicy seeds. I might get 1 adventurous one. Let's hope not.”
