Hello Suzanne! Glad to see the product is giving you results. If you are looking to use the mushroom for any other purpose other than taste and basic nutrition, I would not recommend taking the whole mushroom. It is highly ineffective. In naturally grown Lion's Mane, the polysaccharides are very low, around 2.5%-5%. Ours naturally contains 73% on the last HPLC test because they are grown for the purpose of functional nutrition. You would have to eat massive amounts of the whole mushroom to get similar benefits. Not only that, but you could never be sure how much is in the mushroom, and could greatly eat too much, or too little. For the purpose of function, and not nutrition, we recommend going with a highly controlled method, like ours or someone else's if you did not like ours. Thanks!
