It’s really hard to tell if it’s coming out and therefore really hard to tell how much coverage you’re getting. I feel like I’d use this in a pinch but it’s not really good as the only option for sunscreen. I bought it for use on scalp so hopefully it’ll be better than nothing.

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. We understand that brush-on mineral sunscreen can feel a little different from traditional lotions, especially since the powder is designed to dispense through the bristles as you apply rather than as a visible cloud. Many customers find it helpful to test the brush on the back of their hand first to get a feel for how the product applies. We do love it for scalp protection since it provides SPF coverage without making hair greasy or weighed down. We appreciate you giving Brush On Block a try and hope it proves to be a helpful option for touch-ups and hard-to-reach areas like the scalp and hairline.

I like this product a lot for my 10 month old. I use the adult brush on sunblock for my face and it works great. I like the kid version too except sometimes you have to go over an area several times to see the powder coming out. I also don't understand why it's not a higher spf to protect our children's sensitive skin. And I wish it was refillable.

Hi Haley! So glad you and your little one are loving BOB KIDS — sunscreen every day is the best habit to start early! On SPF: With a mineral powder formula, getting past SPF 30 requires adding additional UV-filtering active ingredients, which can affect how a sunscreen applies and feels. We designed BOB KIDS around building an everyday habit — SPF 30 blocks 97% of UVB rays, which is exactly what dermatologists recommend for daily use. We chose a formula that balances excellent protection with an application experience kids (and parents!) can stick with every day. For dispensing, try working in sections and spending about 15 seconds per area while tapping the brush to keep powder flowing. If it still feels off, reach out and we'll troubleshoot with you! On refills, the sealed design is intentional to prevent little hands from creating a powder-spill situation. We hear the ask, and appreciate the feedback!

Thus helps so much with putting sunscreen on a wiggley toddler! He loves getting "tickled" by the brush. It helps get sunscreen around the eye area. It is difficult to see the application and the powder on the brush. Due to such, we use a lotion on the body/arms and the powder for the face, head and ears.

Impossible to tell if it’s applying or not. Although my kids like the sensation, they won’t hold still for application because it tickles. So ultimately I end up using an alternative sunscreen because I don’t know how much or where I’ve successfully applied the powder. Will not be purchasing again.

Thanks for your feedback. We completely understand how challenging sunscreen application can be with kids, especially when it's hard to tell where you've applied powder and little ones won't sit still. Our mineral powder sunscreen is designed to be buffed onto the skin in a circular motion, which can make it less visible than a traditional lotion. A helpful tip is to test it on the back of your hand first to see how it applies. Our team will be reaching out directly to help troubleshoot and find a solution that works for your family.

I'm not a kid, but I have very fair skin and the Brush-On Block SPF 30 and SPF 50 sunscreen powders made me look like a Cheeto. The BOB Kids SPF 30 is much lighter in tone and works great for me. 4 out of 5 stars because the BOB Kids brush is not refillable
