We’re happy to help you with the brush. Be sure to turn the brush into the OPEN position before you flicked it. The blue portion of the brush with the writing on it clicks to the left to open the brush and to the right to close. This helps prevent leakage and accidental spills. If you have done that, then the best way to see the powder is being applied is to start with the back of one of your hands. Buff the powder on your hand, just as you would on ½ of your child’s face (about 15 seconds, or two verses of Baby Shark and in a circular motion). After doing this, compare the back of your hand to your other hand. You will be able to see the difference, that means the powder is there.Be sure to reapply at least every two hours when your child is in the sun! Here's a short video demonstrating:

“Just got back from Hawaii with our 5 Month old and we LOVED this product! We loved it so much that we purchased a few more to give to friends!
Would Highly recommend this product!”
“This sunscreen has been amazing!! It is very easy to apply and I love that it's easy to get on to my 15 month old's whispy hairline. I will absolutely be purchasing this again!!! My only critique is that there are no refills for the kid version. I'll likely just use the adult version for the whole family!!”
“My son (7) actually looks forward to sunscreen application now! (To his face anyway)
He loves the soft brush and the fact that the product isn’t slimy or sticky - just soft like powder. I use on Facebook , ears, and back of his neck above his rash guard.”
Thank you for the feedback. Your concern is fairly common, and especially with children, as their skin is so smooth and perfect, it can be very hard to see the powder. Be sure to turn the brush into the OPEN position before you flicked it. The blue portion of the brush with the writing on it clicks to the left to open the brush and to the right to close. Thank you!

“I've only used this a few times, but it was super easy to apply and one of the times, my 1yo son didn't get a burn on his (very blonde, white) head, which was in the sun for about 25 minutes. Like it so far!”
“Didn’t work at all. We put on plenty - I applied it myself to be sure that it was well and liberally distributed - and the kids came back roasted like lobsters. Really disappointed.”
Hi Victoria, we're so sorry you did not have a good experience with our Brush On Block products.
There can be so many variables as to why that happened, and typically it's due to improper application or not being reapplied often enough. We would be happy to help work through the function and application of the product to ensure sufficient coverage if you like. We also have some tips and video demonstrations we can send you and we would be happy to chat with you on the phone.
Thanks,
Brush On Block
