Hi Teresa, remember that the powder that is applied to the skin needs to be deep in the bristles to be buffed onto your skin. Powder you see in the air is definitely wasted, and the powder on the tips of the bristles won't be buffed on as effectively. You may also find our blog post helpful!

“We bought two of these. One literally doesn’t work- the sunscreen doesn’t come out and no amount of whacking it helps. The brunch pops off constantly and won’t screw back down. The other one works as it’s supposed to, but coverage is so light, it’s hard to tell where it’s applied. I don’t recommend it for anything more than a cloudy day.”
Hi Carolyn, can you please reach out to us at info@brushonblock.com for help with your defective brush? As far as coverage on the other one, we recommend dividing the areas to be covered into small spaces (half your child's face, one arm and hand, neck and ears, etc) and applying for 15 seconds to that area. Conveniently (or not?) singing two verses of "Baby Shark" is about 15 seconds, and longer than you might think, but with that amount of time and a small space, you can get great coverage and the advertised protection (spf 30).
“My 4 year old has some sensory struggles and absolutely hates to have sunblock put on her face. We tried the brush on sunscreen and she’s in love! No more screaming and fighting - in fact, she asks to put it on when she goes outside now.”
“Goes on quick and easy; it’s saved me from daily wrestling matches trying to slather lotion on the face of my squirmy and very fair-skinner toddler. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a simplified version of sun protection!!”
“It is such a great product but I wish I could see the powder coming out of the brush more. It is so light and my kids are fair-skinned so very hard to tell what and how much is being applied. I will keep using it but pair it with additional SPF products.”
“I like the concept, but cannot get the product to come out. It's twisted to Open, I shake it, I brush it- nothing comes out. I even watched a tutorial. Maybe I got a defective one? I want to love it, my kid hates putting cream sunscreen on his face.”
Hi Leah, it sounds like your brush may be defective! Can you please reach out to us at info@brushonblock.com so that we can arrange to get you a replacement and also get yours back so we can trace the problem? Thank you!
