Looks premium in some parts. But too pricey for just a bluetooth keyboard! Could have been better if they add more functionality like additional battery for your ipad or a slot for your apple pencil. The trackpad seems poorly made, and it makes sounds when you press it and can hear it meters away.

My Brydge keyboard 12.9 Max+ is continually disconnecting from the Bluetooth on my iPad Pro 12.9 Gen 5 with M1. I immediately contacted Brydge tech support over this issue after I received it and was told that it was a known issue with M1 iPads and that the issue would be resolved with the upcoming iPadOS 15 release. Therefore, I did not return the keyboard because I was confident the information Brydge tech support gave me was correct and that the issue would be resolved in the upcoming update. However, even after updating to iPadOS 15 when it came out recently, my Brydge keyboard still keeps disconnecting from Bluetooth on my iPad and it’s really driving me crazy! I continually need to turn the keyboard off then back on to reconnect. Now tech support says to update the app and keyboard which I did but the problem persists. Specifically, it disconnects when selecting and dragging an item. Tried to return keyboard for a refund but was denied. I am just two weeks out of the return period and like I said, I would have returned it within the return period, however I did not because I was told the issue would be resolved by Brydge tech support in the iPadOS 15 update, but it unfortunately has not. Very dissatisfied. Maybe this is why Apple no longer sells Brydge products in their stores? Buyers beware!

Got my Bridge 12.9+ MAX last week after debating for a long time. Was happy with Apple Magic Keyboard, but LOVE the look of the Bridge product. So far I'm generally happy. The responsiveness of the trackpad isn't nearly as fast & reliable as the Apple product, but adequate. Only major grip is that the trackpad often loses connectivity & I have to reset the iPad to get it back. Weird, since the keyboard works fine...only the trackpad stops. Hopefully this will be fixed with future firmware upgrades.

Needs-A-Revision

This could be an amazing keyboard but the hinge is flawed and will eventually break because it's made of plastic. I hope Brydge realizes the 12.9 MAX_ keyboard needs a revision to strengthen the hinge with metal or a STRONGER material because it is not strong enough the handle the very heavy 12.9 M1 iPad Pro and will inevitably break making the MAX+ useless. I'd even consider doing some type of kickstand for the top half that supports the IPP to take the pressure and weight off the hinge. Maybe a kickstand accessory that can snap onto the back of the IPP top half of the keyboard to add the much needed support. If Brydge can figure out a proper revision so the MAX+ can last, it will be the best 12.9 IPP keyboard bar none. But as is it's flawed.

So where to begin. I pre-purchased and pre-paid for this keyboard in the middle of May. It finally arrived at the beginning of September. After ONE week of use, I noticed a hairline crack developing around the hinge pins where the magnetic cover attaches to the keyboard. Shortly thereafter, the plastic around the right side hinge pin completely cracked and pieces of plastic around the hinge pin broke away which caused the magnetic cover with keyboard attached to not stay in the open position, it would just fall backwards as if were a book completely open. I contacted brydge, sent photos and they did respond quickly and send me a replacement. WELL GUESS WHAT…the exact same problem happened with my second keyboard after only 3 yes you heard me, 3 days of using this replacement. Well I again took pictures, sent brydge a support ticket, and I received a message back from the support person (I have kept all the emails so I have records of these conversations) indicating that this is a known problem with their “first” batch of keyboards. Well I received my 2nd replacement today and am just waiting to see if the problem again arises. So far I give the keyboard from a construction standpoint a 2. The usability is excellent however I believe the hinge with the new ipad pro 12.9 5th generation attached cannot support the weight of this unit, nor can it support the stresses of constantly opening and closing the keyboard. The hinge is very very tight and is very stiff to open, and with the new ipad pro attached, the compounds the stresses against the poorly designed thickness of plastic around the hinge assembly. The entire hinge assembly should be constructed of aluminum thus preventing the cracking and breaking.

This product is a rip-off. My keyboard broke within a month. Connections issues, charging issues, hinge issues, typing issues. Way over-priced and terrible quality product.

I bought this keyboard t replace the Apple Magic Keyboard, which I found annoying. This one has the function keys I want, is backlit, and has a great touchpad (which I am still learning to use). The one fault I would suggest is that the hinge is placed so that, if you open the iPad more than about 130 degrees, it lifts the back of the keyboard, so it is not as solidly on the surface. Otherwise, a great purchase. Anyone want an Apple keyboard?

Much prefer the magnetic attachment over the hinges that were on my previous Brydge keyboard. The large trackpad is an appreciated feature, and the backlit keys are also very nice. Not as easy to open as my last Brydge, but I like the weight of this keyboard, and the quality overall. It was easy to connect to my IPAD, and the setup was user friendly.
