I had high hopes for the keyboard but am disappointed for several reasons. First, the keys are too stiff. Second, the keyboard is too heavy. Third, the keyboard takes to long to wake up and make its connection to the iPad. All of this is in comparison the several Logitech keyboard cases I have used in the past. I like the general keyboard layout, including the row of function keys to control things like volume, brightness, etc. I also like that the keys are backlit. Unfortunately, the shortcomings outweigh the benefits, and I intend to find an alternative solution.

The keyboard presents great construction quality. Sturdy, well designed it provides a quality look. For sure the design is not entirely clean, but it doesn't feel awkward paired with the iPad, by the contrary it seems perfectly blended. The same goes for color. Battery is not an issue, and the re-pairing each time one opens the keyboard happens mostly flawless, despite a short lag. This can become slightly annoying with time and use, which just speaks of how natural the whole experience feels, that makes you more demanding. This is after all a bluetooth keyboard and there ain't much way around this, unless a new version with the Apple connector is released. Frankly, I would pay the extra for the connector, but I knew it was a bluetooth when i bought it. Keys' size are reasonable, and personally find it more comfortable than Apple's. The main advantage is the possibility to hinge the screen in different angles, and being able to comfortably and securely work on the lap or other less solid surfaces. The keyboard is heavier than the ipad so stability is ensured. Overall it looks and behaves just like an laptop, so perfectly accomplished. The drawbacks, are... First the weight. Indeed it is balanced, but it adds considerable weight to the whole package. I find it that it has excessive weight. I like travelling really light (hence getting the 10.5 iPad), and with use I am unsure I want to have all this weight in my slim brief. The major drawback however is unfortunately the typing experience. This is why one gets a keyboard. The strokes need to be strong and firm to ensure the key is typed. This makes me type like a monkey hitting vigorously the keys and even then once in a while one misses. Not good. Specially considering that there is enough real estate and depth in the keyboard base to ensure a reliable and smoother experience is provided. I still use it daily, and am able to perform, is just not nice and I loose time correcting the misspells. The short cut keys and all the bells are great, but a keyboard is bought to type... and if that is not a great experience, there is no way around giving less stars. Hope they can improve on this and get a connector.

I installed my new $130 brydge day and My iPad 10.5 now has a permanent line of messed up off-color about a centimeter from the brydge hinge. The hinge is tight and strains the screen slightly when putting on/off or even opening closing. I carefully followed instructions and did not have a screen protector. I am disappointed as i was really looking forward to brydge and it is beautiful and the hinge is high quality and paid a lot only to immediately have my iPad permanently affected as I like to keep my things in perfect condition, and the iPad is a $700+ device

The Brydge keyboard turns my iPad Pro into a laptop. I love the backlit keys. It’s the best iPad keyboard made. I had one on my iPad Air too. Great product!
