“I was thrilled to finda petite chair with dimensions that were actually smaller. I debated between the BTOD Petite and the BTOD Bantam. I'm 5' tall with shorter torso and longer legs. I chose the BTOD Petite because my husband would also use this chair the the Bantam seemed like the depth could be too short. I also went with the adjustable arms so I could get the arms closer. Unfotunately this chair does not hit me right in the lumbar region. I also could have gone with the Bantam as a shorter width would bring the arms closer. I wish it would have fit me better. I'm still debating as to whether I'll keep it or return it.”
“I LOVE THIS CHAIR. I am on the VERY "short" end of petite at 4'9". I worked in furniture sales and never found a chair that fit. Even the Herman Miller Aeron size A cut into the back of my knees. Yes, the BTOD chair may have the design of some of the older model chairs but it is beyond comfortable. I ordered it in the turquoise color. The seat is super cushy and the back fits my spine perfectly. I ordered a cushion for my feet so I can sit at the exact recommended height for my desk - although the chair can go much lower. For the first time in my life I don't get up from my desk and feel intense pain at the back of my knees and in my back.”
“While at first this seemed like it would deliver, in truth, it never did. I have adjusted it many, many times over, I've restarted from the top, and I have to conclude that it suffers from several critical design issues which adjustments will never solve -- the padding on the seat feels plush at first, but is insubstantial, so you 'fall' right through and end up sitting on a hard knob of compressed foam. Where it takes the heaviest load, it's like the foam withered away. My tailbone GRINDS into this chair. The foam is also slowly shifting forward in the seat pan. Is it not anchored? I don't know., But the effect is that where you need the padding, under the sit bones, is where it is now barest. This isn't the only issue with the seat. The seat is way too narrow for my roughly 40 inch hips. That's not even the average hip size of adult women in the US -- it's 4 inches narrower, and I still feel like this chair is much too narrow to feel secure. It would be better if the seat were flatter, but because of the curved sides, it feels even narrower. Conversely, the padding in the back is too aggressive for me to interact with he cushion, so my only choice is to get it out of the way, meaning I don't get back support. And even if I could, the back feels like it was designed around a much bigger user than the person sitting in this teeny, tiny seat!
If I felt I could sit securely, that might change things, however without being able to engage with the back I'm forced to perch on a wiggly base. Oh yes, the mechanism under the chair has decayed to wiggliness inside a few months of use. For those of us who really value sitting still to focus, enforced perching in an active sitting situation is the worst scenario.
Overall, despite a high level of adjustability, I've never been able to get this chair to be comfortable. The foam is just wrong, the seat is not well designed for a small female user, and the chair decayed quickly. I even set it aside for over a year while I tried other solutions, and came back to it to see if I liked it better. Nope, it really feels like a much cheaper chair.”
“Good height for petite (5'1" 130lbs) except armrest too far away from back for comfort, cannot place elbows on armrest without reaching forward, already paid extra for armrest options, happy with adjustable armrest height and some tilt options but prefer closer width and depth adjustments for chair to fit petite. Back support at lumbar area also a little too high for petite female. Purchased without trying, would not buy again due to armrests. Good quality chair though and easy to assemble.”
“My office chair finally fits me! I am only 5' 1" and I work long hours from home. I was using a large chair and was so uncomfortable and was having back pain and sciatic nerve pain. My new chair is so comfortable! The only issue was that it was missing the small wrench to put it together, but that wasn't an issue for my BF.”
“Seat is comfortable. Armrest height and adjustability is great.
The seat back is a little too close to the seat for my comfort. The tilt is also a bit too stiff and I cannot get the seat back to stay in a tilted position no matter what I try.”
