“Crossbar was a bit of a pain to put together without much ckearance in the room. Wood bows a bit in the middle of the 30x72 but that is standard for that size. I got the mahogany color. Mahogany. Motors and everything else seems to be of good quality. Programmable button setup menus are a bit needlessly obtuse, not sure why I need to press the up button 4 times just to the into the menu to pick a memory preset for the height. I still am unsure what purpose of the square drill bit was supposed to be for.”
“Let me start by saying this desk is amazing. I was a bit concerned it would be difficult to put together, but by following their video on YouTube it was super easy. There were some issues with the shipping but everything came out all right. It was all FedEx issues. When it did not arrive on time, I called customer service and they were very polite and checked into it right away. The package was dropped without requiring a signature and the package was damaged. I was really lucky that the desk inside was not. It was very well packed and even with the big hole in the side of the package, the desk remained undamaged. I was a little disappointed with the grommet that the plugs were supposed to go through. The hole in it was too small for most of my plugs. I just ended up leaving that off the desk completely and putting the plugs directly through the cut hole. I ordered the programmable electronic desk and was pleased to find instructions on how to program it directly on the website.”
“Let me just say up front that this is an awesome desk! I did extensive research looking at various brands and decided to buy the VertDesk v3+. Quality parts & construction, plus sturdiness and great styling were all important to me. The numerous YouTube videos showing the quality parts and construction really helped sell me on the VertDesk. BTOD also had a lot of options for the desk that allowed me to customize the desk the way I wanted it. Assembly instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. I also watched Greg's assembly video prior to starting, which was helpful, too.
My desk has a 66" x 30" laminate wood top (Concrete Grooves finish and rounded corners) with the silver finish frame. Options included the file cabinet, casters, the upgraded control panel with memory buttons, and the steel cable box to house and hide a power strip and many cables (this really made for a clean installation). The extra motor to make this a plus version was worth the small incremental cost to me.
Also important is the fact that the desk is rock solid even when extended upward in standing mode. The motors are smooth and concise. I also setup the phone app, which is very intuitive and works great. If you are looking for a solid quality standing desk, look no further . . . this is it!”
“Setup was really easy and its very sturdy at the maximum height. For fun, I was able to lift myself (160 lbs) to the top and had very little wiggle when I shifted my weight back and forth.
I was surprised with the gyroscope collision detection. I tried putting an old chair I didn't care about underneath the desk while I lowered it and the desk detected the collision and stopped itself before it could damage the chair more. I would still be careful with sensitive electronics and cable ports, but you can count on it not seriously crushing anything.
Getting the programmable 1-4 buttons was totally worth it as all I have to do is press "4" and it will rise to the top on its own. Having to hold the arrow buttons all the way up and down is relatively tedious.
The Android app with the "voice control" functionality is terrible. It has a lot of trouble connecting to the desk with Bluetooth and when it does, the voice control is difficult to get to work. Its just simply easier to press one of the 1-4 buttons than try to use voice. The app is really only good for changing the settings and assigning heights to each of the 1-4 buttons. After this is done, feel free to uninstall the app. The app is not required to set the settings but it does make it a lot easier.
Overall fantastic desk. Been using for a week now and no complaints.”
“I bought the VertDesk v3+ in a 46x30 size. I quite like the desk. It is reasonably stable and the casters roll surprisingly well for what looks like cheap hard plastic. I also got a CPU hanger which I use for my UPS and the file cabinet which is excellent. I keep my laptop and a keyboard in the section above the drawers and that has been great. Unfortunately the keyboard got caught under the cap on the leg and was destroyed,
My only real complaint was about the top. It is just press board and the first one was cracked. Customer support was great and quickly shipped me a new one. My other complaint with the top is the size of the grommets. They should be a lot smaller. These are too large for any grommet-mount monitor arm set-ups so I will need to add a plate above and below the grommet hole in order to use my monitor arm.
It is also not clear from the web site where the grommets go. I assumed that A would be near the left, B in the center, and C off to the right. All three grommets are near the center which will weaken the top and is not nearly as useful for me. I should have bought it without grommets and made my own.
I might yet discard this top and order a nice solid wood one from UpLift.”
