Get hooked on crochet with our beginner’s tutorial! Enjoy this relaxing craft as you get to grips with the simple skills you’ll need to stitch beautiful designs, with one of our craft experts on hand to guide you through the steps. This workshop provides a wonderful introduction to the world of crochet, perfect if you’re a complete beginner.

Through the course of the workshop, you’ll learn double stitch and treble stitch. You’ll also be shown how to create a chain, working in rows to create a tension square. You’ll have a craft kit included, ensuring you’ve got the yarn and hook you need. It’s a great opportunity to pick up techniques you can then put into practice when you move on to other patterns.

Throughout the tutorial, you will be able to ask any crochet questions you may have.

You’ll be sent a follow-up video afterwards to guide you in your own time.

This workshop is also available as a private workshop for group bookings of 5+.

Keeping everyone safe
At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

This was an online class. Christie was lovely, and clear on how to do things. She gave us freedom to do things how was most comfortable for us, but within the boundaries of the basic rules on how to actually crochet. An hour and a half zoomed by, and I was brain exhausted at the end, but happy that I now have the basics to practice and master.

My teacher was very easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. I’ve dabbled with some crochet before but I was able to quickly pick up some good tips and skills to get better
