This is a fun activity in Clapham, London

Discover the beauty of imperfection in this hands-on Kintsugi workshop in London at Art4Space, where broken pottery is transformed into something even more meaningful. Guided by experienced teachers, you’ll learn the traditional Japanese art of repairing with gold and leave with symbolic pieces to treasure.

This class is perfect for all experience levels. You’ll be supported every step of the way as you explore the philosophy of wabi-sabi and create up to two repaired bowls using Japanese gold mica powder.

**What to expect:**
- Learn the history and philosophy behind Kintsugi.
- Repair up to two traditional Japanese bowls.
- Option to bring your own crockery or choose from a vintage collection!
- All materials provided, including gold mica powder.
- Enjoy a mindful, creative experience in a welcoming studio.

By the end, you’ll take home golden-seamed pottery and a deeper appreciation for life’s beautiful imperfections.

Excellent teaching method - tutor engaging and warm, knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. Her assistant was supportive and checking on our progress throughout the session. No one ignored!! Was full class and a great atmosphere. A third of your fee is used to provide classes for children and the elderly. Refreshments provided too.

This class was so interesting and such a great way to learn how to fix ceramics rather than simply throwing them away. i may have to “accidentally” break a few more ceramics in much house

Our teacher John was really relaxed, patient, fun and an excellent communicator. He took the time to explain the history and concept of Kintsugi before we started breaking pots and was there every step of the way to offer advice and encouragement. I would not hesitate to recommend him to any other groups think about having class
