Kintsugi Pottery Repair Workshop Reviews

This is a fun activity in Heswall, Liverpool

We need to become more aligned with the concept that something being “broken” does not mean that it is useless. Nor do we have to see the concept of actually restoring something as making it ‘as new’.

Kintsugi teaches us that in life we can turn adversity into something that is beautiful and resilient and shows us that in time, we can heal from our wounds, embrace our imperfections, and become stronger.

Kintsugi known as the golden repair translates as ‘kin’ meaning gold and ‘tsugi’ meaning 'join'.

Using a 2-part epoxy glue, premium non-toxic and gold powder we will repair a Japanese-inspired piece of pottery.

We will take our time and gently convert our bowl into a beautiful piece to display and cherish reminding us that no matter our difficulties, we can find a way to reframe and find meaning in life.

We would highly recommend the Kintsugi workshop, we had a fantastic time. The organisation was great, with our tutor contacting us a few days before with a reminder of all the details. The workshop was a really lovely space and very comfortable. Our tutor was really welcoming, engaging and encouraging and the Kintsugi activity was loads of fun. We made a beautiful bowl that we're really pleased with and had a brilliant time doing it. We'll definitely be back for more workshops!

A brilliant class. Sammy worked very hard explaining and demonstrating this interesting process. She also supplied materials and advice to really complete the bowl well.

The workshop was a gift from my partner and was very symbolic to us. The concept of kintsugi is really meaningful and the creative practice during the workshop was mindful and relaxing. Sammy was a really warm and engaging teacher. She explained all the steps really clearly, and was on hand to help at all times. Funny too The studio where the workshop was held was rustic and quirky and perfect for the activity. Barista drinks available at additional cost but well worth it. I enjoyed chatting to the other workshop participants. I’d definitely do another workshop there. Thank you!
