This is a fun activity in Northampton

Looking for a creative break? Join us for a fun 2hr taster pottery class in Northamptonshire, where you’ll get your hands dirty learning the basics of throwing on the wheel or hand building. Whether you're completely new to pottery or just looking to try something different, this session is perfect for exploring your artistic side!

Once you’ve arrived and settled into the studio, you’ll get to decide whether you want to try out the wheel or dive into a hand-building project. Either way, we’ll guide you through the essentials, like centring the clay on the wheel or shaping it by hand, so you can get started on your very own creation.

You’ll have the chance to make up to two unique pieces and apply surface design techniques and choose glazes to make each piece individual. This is a relaxed, session, so there’s no pressure; just come along, have fun, and create something you’ll be proud of. It’s all about trying something new, learning a skill, and having a good time!

Notes
- It will not be possible to use the electric wheels if you are fitted with a pacemaker.
- shorter nails are better for wheel throwing, but we can work with nails you cant bear to trim

Really enjoyed the afternoon. Karen is friendly and very knowledgeable ~ she created a lovely relaxed environment and tailored the session to what we wanted to learn/try. Great way to spend an afternoon; loved that with Karen's excellent tuition we both came away with multiple pieces. Looking forward to seeing them glazed!

Thank you so much Karen for a wonderful class! I’m so excited to get my bird bath after the glazing. Your patience and clear guidance was exactly what I needed as a novice, and I enjoyed the smooth music too. And your skill is exceptional when showing me how to do things. I will definitely be back with my daughter in the future.

Karen was extremely personable and warm. Gave really good advice, as well as helping us when things went pear shape (like our clay…!). Overall a really great teacher. She made the class very fun, it went by so quick due to our enjoyment, especially as newbies this meant we were really comfortable to be ourselves and make mistakes but keep going. I couldn’t recommend Karen and this class enough, it was great.
