This is a fun activity in Shoreditch, London

This introductory beginner's glass workshop in London is specially designed for absolute beginners with no prior experience in lampworking glass. It's the ideal activity to learn how to create your own stunning glass flowers without feeling overwhelmed.

Through careful observation and teaching, we have found that starting with the Mini Flower Set is the perfect way to begin. This approach allows you to get hands-on straight away and successfully create beautiful pieces. In this workshop, you will learn how to make mini flowers, which have 3-5 petals that are lightly pressed, or small flowers, where each petal is pressed multiple times for added detail. To ensure a high success rate, each flower is limited to a maximum of 5 petals.

You can choose a workshop duration that suits your schedule:

- 1.5-hour workshop: Create a mini set of 2-3 flowers or a small set of 2 flowers.
- 2-hour workshop: Create a mini set of 3-4 flowers or a small set of 2-3 flowers.
- 3-hour workshop: Create a mini set of 5+ flowers or a small set of 4+ flowers.

For those interested in creating more intricate designs, we recommend joining our Improver Beginner Workshop after this introductory session.

You will leave with a gorgeous collection of your very own handcrafted glass flowers and a wonderful sense of achievement from mastering this mesmerising art form.

It was great, Claire was a really lovely teacher and took time to show me everything and help me throughout when I needed it. In the 1.5 hour workshop I ended up making 3 flowers, it was really enjoyable and a great thing to do by myself as after the tutorial it’s a really independent activity. Happy!

I went into this workshop as a complete beginner and found the teaching structure quite challenging. We were shown one initial demonstration and then largely left to work independently. As someone totally new to glass work, I would have really benefited from more ongoing guidance during the session - for example, having a teacher regularly moving around the room to check we were okay and offer advice when needed. Because of the time constraints and limited guidance, I only managed to make one flower, and the end result was… let’s just say more of a Frankenstein flower than something I felt proud to take home & one of the petals has already fallen off I also had a moment where one instructor came over and quite abruptly told me I was doing something “wrong,” which felt a bit discouraging as a beginner. Another instructor later stepped in and helped, but overall the level of support felt inconsistent. I can see the potential for this workshop to be really fun and enjoyable, especially with a more supportive structure for beginners. I’d consider returning if the teaching approach felt more encouraging and guided throughout the session.

It was both harder and easier than I expected. A lot of fun. The workshop was v pretty, the equipment was cool. The coloured glass selection was good. The teachers were v helpful, but also encouraging. I had a good time and would highly reccommend, even though I wasn’t great at it. Still left with a nice (but nice as others) flower
