This is a fun activity in Bristol

If you've ever wanted to learn the basics of wheel-thrown pottery, this fun and relaxing taster session at Terra Cafe in Bristol is the perfect place to start. It's an ideal activity for anyone who is curious about pottery and loves the idea of creating something unique and beautiful from clay.

This workshop is designed specifically for beginners. You'll be guided by a friendly and experienced instructor who will show you how to centre, shape, and form your own cylinders and bowls. With a small class size of only four people, you will receive plenty of one-to-one support and guidance throughout the two-hour session.

You will learn the fundamental skills of throwing on a pottery wheel and experience the unique, mindful process of working with clay. At the end of the class, you can choose your favourite pieces to be fired and glazed, ready for you to collect 6 weeks later.

You'll leave this session with a sense of achievement and a newfound appreciation for the craft, having been personally guided through the rewarding process of making your very first pot.

*Please note for a one-on-one private throwing class we can only teach these during weekdays (not evenings or weekends)*

We booked a private class for a birthday celebration. The staff were so lovely and accommodating and Fran (teacher) was so patient and helpful. We all made 4 pieces and despite our laughter and messiness ( and tweaks from Fran to rectify our mistakes) we ended up being proud of our creative efforts !! Would definitely recommend ☺️

Really enjoyed my experience. Friendly and helpful teacher, and had enough time to try out and then improve. I’d never done it before so it was fun figuring out what and what not to do! Excited to go and glaze my three pottery pieces.

Our teacher was wonderful, was very thorough and helpful but gave us space to try our own things, was a very fun experience even for someone who wouldnt consider themselves creative in any way, highly recommend.
