This is a fun activity in Bristol

If you've ever wanted to learn the basics of wheel-thrown pottery, this fun and relaxing taster session at Terra Cafe in Bristol is the perfect place to start. It's an ideal activity for anyone who is curious about pottery and loves the idea of creating something unique and beautiful from clay.

This workshop is designed specifically for beginners. You'll be guided by a friendly and experienced instructor who will show you how to centre, shape, and form your own cylinders and bowls. With a small class size of only four people, you will receive plenty of one-to-one support and guidance throughout the two-hour session.

You will learn the fundamental skills of throwing on a pottery wheel and experience the unique, mindful process of working with clay. At the end of the class, you can choose your favourite pieces to be fired and glazed, ready for you to collect 6 weeks later.

You'll leave this session with a sense of achievement and a newfound appreciation for the craft, having been personally guided through the rewarding process of making your very first pot.

*Please note for a one-on-one private throwing class we can only teach these during weekdays (not evenings or weekends)*

I had an absolute blast tonight and am still buzzing about it. After watching every episode of the great pottery throw down on TV, I was finally able to try it myself, and discover how hard it is. Pedros was a superb teacher: knowledgeable, patient and kind. I’m tempted to take up pottery as a hobby now!

It was really fun. Fran was a lovely teacher, and unbelievably - we are complete novices - we ended up succeeding in making three quite acceptable bowls / cups each.

This was a Christmas gift for a freind, we arrived with no knowledge! Our teacher, Petros, was brilliant. We had a straightfoward demonstration then straight in with hands on. It was such fun, Petros assisted as necessary, we both made items that are fit for purpose and will return to glaze them at a later date. Would highly recommend

The class felt very personal with very few people. Our teacher was very knowledgeable and spent time with each of us. This was a Christmas gift and the gift voucher was very easy to use. Certainly recommended

Loved it! Really great experience. Tutor was fab - really patient and gave great instruction and advice throughout the session. I've come out with some pieces that im really pleased with despite having never done pottery before. Looking forward to going back and doing the glaze to finish it all off.
