This is a fun activity in Bristol

If you've ever wanted to learn the basics of wheel-thrown pottery, this fun and relaxing taster session at Terra Cafe in Bristol is the perfect place to start. It's an ideal activity for anyone who is curious about pottery and loves the idea of creating something unique and beautiful from clay.

This workshop is designed specifically for beginners. You'll be guided by a friendly and experienced instructor who will show you how to centre, shape, and form your own cylinders and bowls. With a small class size of only four people, you will receive plenty of one-to-one support and guidance throughout the two-hour session.

You will learn the fundamental skills of throwing on a pottery wheel and experience the unique, mindful process of working with clay. At the end of the class, you can choose your favourite pieces to be fired and glazed, ready for you to collect 6 weeks later.

You'll leave this session with a sense of achievement and a newfound appreciation for the craft, having been personally guided through the rewarding process of making your very first pot.

*Please note for a one-on-one private throwing class we can only teach these during weekdays (not evenings or weekends)*

This was an xmas gift from the wife, what a great gift! Gabby the instructor was great, so helpful, I really enjoyed having a go, made 4 reasonable looking pots, the wife bought me a gift card for the full amount of the course but you put the price up so I had to pay a little extra, put the choice of either full payment or part at booking so when someone pays full it is actually no more to pay out even if you do put the price up, apart from that it was a great way to spend a few hours and the 2 ladies that made up the rest of the attendees also made the day, so friendly, and yes I would do it again.

Booked the class as a birthday present, nailed it! We had good fun and a great teacher, public class of 4. The café has a very nice atmosphere. You can go back to glaze your works after a couple weeks (booked separately). Definitely recommended!
