I had read a little about Kintsugi (apparently the art of repairing, renewing and eventually enhancing with gold, damaged china).
Noriko, our knowledgeable and generous teacher, shared so much more in this very productive 2 hour class.
Many of us have sentimental pieces of china, damaged and beyond repair and learning the art of Kintsugi can enhance these flawed and damaged items in a new and beautiful way.
I found this Kintsugi workshop thought-provoking, giving time for reflection on the process which was soothing and satisfying. I also appreciated the cultural and historical aspects inherent in Kintsugi imparted by Noriko, very interesting.
