“Max was great, very funny guy but the class itself… well I wouldn’t really call it a class. It wasn’t super educational and we didn’t even really learn a recipe, as everything was already prepped and measured and wrappers were pre-made. Was definitely still a fun day out but a very short experience and yeah, I wouldn’t really call it a dumpling making class, more like a dumpling folding and eating session.”
“We loved the incorporation of the three differently cooked dumplings, and we had so much fun making our own diy dumplings at the end! Teacher was funny and explained everything really clearly.”
“We have just finished the absolute best day celebrating a big birthday with our extended family. max our teacher was fun, engaging, patient and taught us all something new on the Dumpling front.
We had a huge group so hired the private room upstairs which was very worth it. Brilliant space, own bar for drinks, separate lounges for sitting and chatting once the cooking was done and a balcony for fresh air and some Inner City vibes.
Everyone raved about the whole event. Would 100/100 recommend.”
“A fun, tasty class. Easy class - involves mixing pre-chopped and pre-measured ingredients which you then put into dumpling pastry and fold as instructed or as you desire. Casual, relaxed atmosphere. Lovely chatting with others on shared tables during preparation. Recommend bringing a friend or do as a group as you get to sit with them afterwards to eat your creations. People who came alone were sat a dining table by themselves to eat. Of course not an issue if people prefer it that way. The staff cook your dumplings for you (3 different ways: deep fry, steam & pan fry). They have take away containers if you don't eat them all. Max was a really friendly, humorous and relaxed teacher. Highly recommend!”
“Very disappointing. This wasn’t a cooking class. No cooking station. They just gave us chopped up ingredients and store bought rubbery pastry sheets and told us how to fold the dumplings. Once we fold them, they brought them into their kitchen they didn’t explain how to cook them and they served them to us to eat. They were very rubbery and without flavour. It was totally pointless to go to this class as I didn’t learn anything about dumplings. The guy who run the class was very young and didn’t have a clue about dumplings, cooking, or anything related to this cooking class. The room were we we did the class had just tables and chairs, and some chopped ingredients on the table. No preparation for the ingredients was provided, no receipss or written Intruction, no explanations on how to cook them. Besides they were very rubbery and completely tasteless.”
