“We had a very good time making dumplings. We’ve done 70 between three of us - and they cooked the dumplings for us in three delicious ways: deep fried, steamed and fried. Nice experience for Sunday afternoon. My daughter is looking for wonton pastry in supermarkets now in order to make her own at home. Thank you very much for this experience..!”
“Fabulous way to get four reluctant teens to participate in a festive activity with grandma. They were engaged and entertained- then stuffed themselves after. It’s not a particularly sophisticated cookery class but perfect for our tough crowd and we learnt new and to perfect basic wrapping techniques.”
“We do a lot of similar classes for our work parties. This one was okay. Around 20-30 minutes into the class we asked about our drinks package (we had paid a few hundred dollars extra for unlimited beer and wine throughout our class), to which the facilitator asked us to wait, as they were too busy to be taking drink orders from our group. They did rectify this within a few minutes. We also would have preferred if the dumplings made were made individually rather than the whole group collectively (more similar to other classes we have taken); as well as to have accompaniments offered to the meal, considering the price per head. Overall a good experience and a friendly facilitator, but we would not return.”
“The teacher was really friendly and informative. We ended up making so many dumplings, plus they cooked them in 3 different ways! They were all so delicious! Would recommend this class!”
“It was ok. We certainly learned how to make dumplings but as an experience it was average. You might be better with a YouTube video. Communication was poor. We felt like we were on a production line. I wonder if they were understaffed. We were not given any kind of welcome or plan for the session or even shown where we were meant to sit. It seemed disorganised. We had to ask for some really simple requests like soy sauce.”
“The facilitator, Charlie, was friendly and helpful. Regarding the course, I thought it was too simple and therefore not as enjoyable as I had expected. All the ingredients were already chopped up for us, so all we had to do was put them in a bowl and mix. I was hoping to make our own pastry for the dumplings, but we used store bought pastry in a packet instead. The most disappointing part was we didn't get to cook the dumplings. All our dumplings were sent to the kitchen at the back, behind closed doors, so we didn't get to learn how to deep fry, steam, or pan-fry the dumplings. All in all, it was a "fold-the-dumplings-and-eat" class.”
