This class blew me away. From Mikey and Leila opening up their home, to the intimate home like, small group experience, we were made to feel relaxed and had the outline of the day explained to us. We then walked through the process step by step where we started to make the dough for our bread and also made the starter for us to take home to bake. Mikey and Leila had a depth of experience they were willing to share openly, and their expertise has continued to follow through days after the experience, where we have been walked through how to feed, maintain and establish our starter. It has been very hands on so we haven't been set up to fail. As a class, together we made scones for morning tea and at the beginning of the day, we baked a loaf from dough that had been preprepared. One by one we went through different steps of each process, with personal attention where necessary to perfect the steps so weren't set up to fail the process, and ended up being able to bake our own loaf of bread that we prepared during the class the next day. Mikey and Leila, we love your openess and expertise and your willingness to share. Thank you for being willing to share your knowledge and to share your skills with us. Thank you for opening up your home, for feeding us so well, and not leaving us to go away blindly to do it on our own but have continued to walk us through step by step so we can become established independent bakers of sourdough. Thanks for sharing how we can also use the same dough to bake charcuterie we had with lunch. I so greatly wish we could give you much more than five stars - Mikey and Leila, you are phenomenal teachers and sharers, thank you \(^_^)/

The hosts were very open and welcoming. The whole process was presented in a simple and easy to follow manner. They offered great instructions and tips to ensure that we would be successful in our participation both on the day and in baking our prepared dough the next day. They have continued to offer support and ensure that we are on track to producing our first starter. On the day as extra They also showed us how to make scones using sourdough and a few other options. The group was great and the lunch served by our hosts at the end of fresh bread and a charcuterie board was delish

Such a great experience! The workshop was really relaxed and friendly, with lots of chances to chat with others in the group. Mike and Leila shared loads of knowledge and explained everything in a really easy, approachable way. It was also great to actually work through the steps yourself and leave with a loaf ready to bake at home. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone — whether you’re a complete beginner or already have some experience. Had a great time!

Fantasitc class - well paced with lots of opportunity for questions. Great hands-on expereince. Wonderful morning tea and lunch that added to the experience. The class was led by a couple who are charasmatic, engaging and informative and their passion for breadmaking really shines through the whole day.

I got this class as a gift, and it was such an amazing find. Mike and Leila are so lovely and down-to-earth. Sourdough baking can be a bit daunting when you start, but they made the process simple, and were so generous with their knowledge and skills. I also thought it was really good value - apart from the delicious charcuterie, fresh bread and scones we had on the day, we also came away with a banneton, bread scraper, starter, feed, extensive instructions and a loaf of dough to bake later. I'm so glad we finally have something like this in the hills district and would highly recommend it for anyone with any interest in bread baking.

Mikey and Leila were so welcoming, approachable and knowledgeable. I finished the class with a greater understanding of the steps to make sourdough and what each steps purpose was. Their guidance for technique such as stretching and folding, and shaping the dough was so incredibly useful. Overall it’s was a fun and engaging class that has jumpstarted my sourdough journey. Could not recommend more. My first sourdough bake turned out great with the guidance of Mikey and Leila.
