Mikey and Leila were so welcoming, approachable and knowledgeable. I finished the class with a greater understanding of the steps to make sourdough and what each steps purpose was. Their guidance for technique such as stretching and folding, and shaping the dough was so incredibly useful. Overall it’s was a fun and engaging class that has jumpstarted my sourdough journey. Could not recommend more. My first sourdough bake turned out great with the guidance of Mikey and Leila.

Had a great day with Leila and Michael. Lovely intimate and relaxed small group class, allowing lots of questions to be asked and answered. Michael and Leila were very knowledgeable and demonstrated the stages of the bread making patiently with us all, supporting us all to do the same. A delicious morning tea and lunch to boot; can’t wait to bake my bread and moreso, eat it. Would recommend - thanks for a lovely day guys

I thoroughly enjoyed the sourdough making class hosted by Leila and Mickey. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome in their beautiful home. With just six students in the group, the class felt personal and relaxed. Leila and Mickey shared their extensive knowledge and experience, patiently answering questions throughout the day (and even offering support afterwards). It is clear they genuinely love what they do. Apart from learning about the “starter”, the different steps of making a dough, and the baking process, we were treated to a delicious morning tea of sourdough scones we had made during class - with cream and homemade fig jam. Later, we enjoyed a beautiful lunch made from the sourdough we baked earlier, served with a smorgasbord of fresh fruit, cheeses, cold meats, honeycomb, and my personal favourite: honey-roasted pecans. I’m looking forward to putting my new sourdough skills into practice, knowing I can reach out to Leila and Mickey if I need any help or advice along the way. Highly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning the art of sourdough! (Pic of bread I baked after class at home)

The host made the sourdough masterclass such an enjoyable and memorable experience. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt welcome and had fun while learning. Their effort and warmth turned it into more than just a class, it was a really special time.
