“Really enjoyed the class. Our tutor was knowledgeable about the historic art form as well as the modern version you work on in class. They make you a coffee and then take you through all the necessary steps. You can bring your own broken crockery but there are plenty of bowls provided for you to break, then take home. The piece you put back together isn’t food safe but can be used as a decorative piece, key bowl, fruit bowl etc. One thing to note is the epoxy adhesive has a very strong unpleasant smell”
“We had the best time in this workshop - we booked it in for our anniversary and loved every second of it. We were made to feel extremely welcomed and looked after while we were here and Rashmi was amazing at walking us through the process. We cannot thank her enough and will definitely be back to do more workshops with her in the future.”
“We had a great time at the Kintsugi class. We felt welcomed by the teacher and her partner, too. The class felt very supportive and comfortable for us to ask questions and really get involved in making the Kintsugi. We had coffee on arrival, were introduced to the history of Kintsugi then were able to break the items before beginning to repair it. Some people had an item of importance to repair, too. The class was scheduled for 2 hours but we were there about 3 - we didn't feel rushed out, and were able to take home the finished items and a new passion for Kintsugi. We would recommend this to anyone.”
“A great class today. It was good to get a history of kintsugi, why it was developed and the links to Japanese philosophy. Our teacher was amazing, supporting us to all complete at least one kintsugi repair. Would highly recommend this class. So much fun and patience!”
“We had the best time at this workshop! My partner and I were the only ones signed up for the class so we received excellent one-on-one help from our instructor. Our instructor made this experience so fun, educational, and enjoyable. We love the pieces we created and hope to return for more of her classes. Highly recommend!”
“Mum and I attended the Kintsugi class for her 60th birthday. Rashmi began the class with an interesting history lesson and her instructions were easy to follow. It was a calming session, we got more confident with the process and Rashmi was constantly guiding us throughout the class. Would love to try this at home.”
“Teacher was absolutely lovely - our first bowl shattered into too many pieces so we were offered another one. Much help available but also allowed for experimentation. Only 2 of us at the particular time of day which meant for great 1 on 1 assistance and chatter. Complementary tea on offer was nice too!”
“Rashmi was a great teacher! We both enjoyed the class very much, learning about the art of Kitsugi and the philosophy of wabi sabi. Highly recommended!”
