If you are looking for a no-frills grinder that's built like a tank then look no further! The Silenzio has a small footprint, is extremely quiet, and produces a great grind. I just wish the grind knob was a little larger, as even the tiniest of movements can change your grind, but it seems to be standard for the line. The analog timer is decently accurate, usually within +/- 0.5 grams, but if you are looking for exact measurements then you may want to step up to the next model with the digital display. I think it's a perfect complement to the Gaggia Classic Pro.

First of all, the Silenzio is incredibly quiet. This was one of the top factors for me considering we have a baby on the way. If we have any hope of making coffee with a baby in a nearby room, this grinder is our best shot. I am super impressed with the noise suppression. Second, it quality of grind is fantastic. It is quite consistent. However, it does lack automatic features found in other grinders. You are paying for high quality burrs and good construction and not features with this model. I measure out single does, and it has relatively little retention. So automatic grinds is irrelevant to me anyway. There is a timed grind feature but I haven't played with it. I just way how much to put in. Overall, it is a fantastic grinder about a month in. I would totally buy this again if I had to start my search for a grinder over.

Grinder arrived quickly and very well package. There was a bit of coffee in it from testing at Cliff and Pebble, but after some cleanup I was ready to grind. The grinds are consistent and the grinder is very quiet. I am happy with my purchase.

The Silenzio is a beautifully designed machine. It has a small footprint, and in the black color, it has a sleek and clean look. The sound dampening works well, and though it is not quiet, it is not loud (which for a coffee grinder, is pretty good). It produces relatively fluffy grounds, but it is not super easy to get a good distribution directly from the machine. A dosing cup or WDT tool would help. Also, while it produced great grounds, it is not the easiest to dial-in with the very small grind-size wheel. I recommend it, as it is value for the price, but there are a few additional steps needed. P.S. It is not the best for single dosing, but the retention is not horrible...maybe 2g or so.

Thank you for your review, Eli. Setup looks wonderful!

It is very quiet, which is it's defining feature. However, it also seems to produce very uniform grounds which is its defining purpose. More expensive machines may do a somewhat better job with clumping (although the Silenzio is not bad in this respect either) but for the price, the footprint on the counter, the quality of grounds, and the "livability" with this grinder, I do not think it can currently be beat.

I bought this to pair with my Gaggia Classic as a dedicated espresso grinder. It's been an amazing addition. I've always been told that my grinder is as important as the espresso machine itself. I never guessed just how true this would prove to be. My overall quality went up dramatically. Consistency and micro control is excellent. The original reason for my purchase was mainly to have a quieter grinder that would also be a step up from my vario. This definitely fit the bill.

This grinder has so much going for it! I was considering grinders in price points low and high and this grinder's aesthetics had me constantly coming back to it! A very clean, simple, geometric appearance without any unsightly controls. The timing dial and manual/timed toggle switch are hidden away on the right side where they're still easily accessible, and I think they allow for quicker adjustment than the digital control panel on the Specialita. The dense metal casing offers durability and acoustic insulation; the Silenzio and others in this line by Eureka are perhaps the quietest grinders you'll find on the market which means making your morning cup of joe won't wake up the family. The grinder handles single doses well, and the hopper for me is the perfect size for a week's worth of beans. If it lasts you longer than that maybe you're not drinking enough coffee... Though the process of finding a grinder, the Cliff & Pebble team was helpful and responsive to all of my questions. Pros: beautiful design, quiet grinding, good burr size, stepless grind size adjustment, timed grinding, convenient hopper, manual switches offer easy control, metal case offers stability. Cons: push button takes practice getting used to, portafilter holder is a little difficult to install (but means it won't come out as easily), angle of the chute sometimes makes grinding messy, cleaning up loose grinds around the grinder is difficult.
