“This stove little is great. Heats our family room, living room and kitchen area perfectly.
We've used it a couple weeks and aside from a slight learning curve on my part (like making sure the pellet hopper top door is fully closed and the crucible properly inserted) it is working great.
Four out of five stars for three kicks...
1. The control panel would be right against the flue pipe if mounted as directed. Bad design, there should be factory accommodations to mount the controls offset from center and also side mounting.
2. The pellet hopper door is too small to pour pellets in directly from the sack. I've yet to pour pellets in without spilling.
3. The hopper holds only one sack (40 lbs) of pellets. In order to keep the stove from running out of pellets I'm required to dump in partial bags. The hopper should hold at least 50 lbs of pellets. This is my biggest kick.
But consider how nice the stove is aside from the three points above we like it very much and I'd buy it again tomorrow!”
“I installed this unit in my basement to supplement the larger HP22N on the main floor. Installation was a breeze. After the vent and fresh air piping was in place, I filled the hopper and turned on the unit. The basement is now 75 degrees instead of 60. One thing is I wish the HP22 was as quiet as this HP50.”
