“I chose a beautiful looking rose covered cake recently from Cutter and Squidge. I have ordered the delicious vegan Berry cake before and loved it so was expecting something similarly delicious. The rose cake looked beautiful but it wasn't particularly tasty. Maybe it was the cream like icing that was quite thick and the sponge didn't feel especially fresh although maybe that was just the texture. The key thing is that it did look lovely on the table, but we (everyone who ate it) just weren't blown away by the taste. For the price, I guess we were expecting something amazing. In terms of price, the cake was expensive and although I expect to pay good money for a good cake, I thought the price to add the chocolate disc with Happy Birthday was a bit excessive given what it was.”
