“Have yet to use the filter kits. Did a dry run on them for fitment and function when I first received them; so far no complaints. They're made of a hard plastic that seems very sturdy. I am a bit surprised that Devos just doesn't make the Light Ranger with the capability of switching the light color output vice the color filters. Cost maybe? You can find headlamps, solar lights, etc that have the same capability at a cheaper cost that can change their color spectrum.”

Unfortunately, this is standard across many lighting industries. From offroad vehicle lighting to amber bulbs for porch lighting, they all drop in brightness when a yellow, amber, or red translucent cover/bulb is placed over them. Even colored bulb filaments and LED’s with the same power output to white will be dimmed.
